Introducing Monty, a 5-year-old boxer terrier mix, who has overcome a challenging past. This resilient pup was discovered as a stray on Bear Mountain, enduring abandonment and food scarcity. Consequently, Monty developed some food guarding tendencies. However, with a consistent feeding schedule and engaging enrichment activities, he is steadily improving. Monty is now happily coexisting with both cats and dogs, showcasing his adaptable nature. He would thrive in a home with children aged 10 and older, even better with ample dog experience. Monty is already potty trained and is diligently working on mastering basic commands. Let’s help Monty find his forever home so he can continue his transformation and journey towards a brighter future

We ask all potential adopters to fill out an adoption application which allows us to check certain points of reference (vets, home ownership status, previous pets, etc). If the application looks good, the adopter signs the adoption contract which states, among other things, the animal(s) will have a permanent home with said adopter and if for any reason this becomes impossible, the animal must be returned to Four Legs Good. Four Legs Good reserves the right to place a follow-up phone call or visit, with notice, within the first year of adoption.

Four Legs Good is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to providing the most humane treatment of Rockland County animals in need. We started as a small group of dedicated volunteers who decided to make a difference in the lives of feral, homeless and abandoned animals. We are currently working out of the RG CARES Animal Shelter.
