Minnie and Daisy are a mother daughter pair of short hair guinea pigs. Minnie is Lilac and white. She is around 1 Year Old. Daisy is Blonde, Creme and White. She is 7 Months Old, Born December 8th.
Minnie was brought to us on a transport, the whole way from Kentucky. She wasn't being treated well and was being kept in a wire bottomed cage with a male pig. She came to us pregnant and delivered 2 babies while here at the rescue. Sadly one of her babies didn't make it, but Daisy was a trooper. She was very tiny as a baby but has really blossomed into a big girl with a belly to prove it! Daisy was born December 9th here at the rescue and she was loud from the very beginning. She's a demanding little diva with alot of personality. Both Minnie and Daisy are kinda skittish at first, and need some work. Minnie was not handled alot from her former owner so she needs a little time to warm up to people at first. But if you bring the food you are definitely her friend. She will wheek and wheek until you feed her. Daisy kinda sits back and watches what her Momma does and then goes and starts to eat. They have been together Daisy's entire life so they are completely bonded. Minnie and Daisy would do well with older children or adults. They need some time and patience, but they are worth the wait because they are just so beautiful. Their coloring is adorable, Minnie has that beautiful lilac and Daisy is creme with blonde.
Minnie and Daisy, might not like to be handled very often but with constant interaction in a new home they will be great. They learn that you are not going to hurt them and with working with them you will bond them to you. Especially if you bring the spring mix! They love that and will wheek up a storm until fed. They love fresh hay as well and will be found burrowing into the hay! They love the hidey houses, they each have one, but Daisy is usually found cuddling next to Momma. They like their cuddle cups and cuddle saks as well. They would love a home that would bed them on fleece with towels! The extra softness is always a bonus. Minnie will take food from your hand, and were working on Daisy but she's a bit shy when it comes to us humans, but with time and patience she will be a great girl. They would do great in a home with older children because of them being a bit skittish.
