My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Rudolph,

He was days away from being put to sleep at a high kill shelter in North Carolina! This handsome guy was discarded as a hunting dog and left for animal control to pick him up running loose, without a place to call home. When no one came forward Rudolph quickly found himself on the urgent list. To make matters worse, Rudolph was heartworm positive. Thanks to a very dedicated foster family, Rudy's life was spared. They agreed to take him in until he found a good home. His heartworms have been treated and he is well on his way to recovery!

While in foster care, the family discovered he is a very sweet boy and enjoys laying around in his dog bed. He also enjoys the great outdoors, so a fenced in backyard would be ideal for him to safely enjoy some fresh air!

We recommend Rudolph go to a home without other dogs or dog's that are dominant like him. He is NOT aggressive with other dogs; he just likes to be the boss. He will need an understanding family that can work with him! We don't think this hound dog should go to a home with cats.

If you are interested in this beautiful boy, please submit an application to be contacted! His foster home is currently located in North Carolina, but arrangements will be made for an approved adopter.

Additional adoption info

Petty Pawz Rescue reserves the right to deny adoption applications if we do not believe the family or animal is a good fit for you. We stand by our animal's and their safety and only want to set them up for success! Petty Pawz Rescue is operating with less than 3 people, so it may take longer than expected to hear back with your application status.

Go meet their pets

We generally host adoption events at our headquarters (contact us for address) every Saturday and Sunday from 9-2pm. We can also make arrangements throughout the week if you are not available to visit. We are foster based and have to align your schedule to the foster's schedule in order for you to meet the animals. We do not have a facility you can visit at this time.

More about this rescue

Petty Pawz Rescue is a 501c3 non-profit organization focused on rescuing and assisting animal shelters that are overcrowded or animals considered high-risk. We do not accept owner surrenders at this time as our focus is animals that are in immediate danger. We specialize in pregnant animals, orphaned animals, senior dogs, or animals needing medical assistance. We are foster based and can only accept what we have availability for foster wise. We take in both cats and dogs, big or small! Our mission is to prevent the overpopulation in animal shelters and to find loving forever homes for the animals in our custody!
