Additional adoption info

Our adoption fees for dogs normally run from $350 to $650 for dogs that need a lot of grooming, oftentimes more for puppies and pure breeds. Adoption fees are usually less for kittens/cats ($100-200). Our fees are higher if a lot of medical treatments are incurred (teeth cleaning, X-rays, blood tests, grooming, or we get the animals fixed where we get puppies.

CARES does have a contract and we do a house check. The requirements are pretty standard for most animal rescues. We thoroughly investigate the potential home situation to ensure that the animal will be happy and safe, and that the new caretakers are satisfied with their new family member.

Go meet their pets

CARES is in Lake Los Angeles, CA (E. Lancaster). We occasionally have a booth at events such as World Dog Day in West Hollywood; Bark at the Park in Lancaster; and at our Sanctuary in Lake Los Angeles (E. Lancaster).

Come see us at our adoption days on weekends at the 47th St. E. PetSmart in Palmdale, CA. Most of the time we are there on Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but occasionally on a Sunday (same hours). Four times a year we are there for 3-day National Adoption Weekends. The next one will be 9/13-15/19.

More about this rescue

Share Bond has been doing animal rescue, community outreach programs, media work, teaching at wildlife, companion animal and animal rights conferences all over the US. We at CARES help all animals in one way or another and are not speciesists. We have specialists in all areas needed at our rescue facility. CARES is also a sanctuary for non-placeable animals (deaf, senior animals, special needs) and we make sure that each and every animal has plenty of space, mental enrichment, attention, and a clean environment with the best food possible.

I chose to do this work because it is needed. We all owe it to the animals. Our important programs (Animal Crime Watch, Neighborhood Watch For Animals, Stray-Free Lake LA, TNR+, Humane Wildlife Solutions, etc.) are desperately needed. Someone needs to get through to the general public.
