My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Young male full of energy looking for a family to match his zeal for life. He is very strong and would need an experienced handler. He would also need to learn a few manners as his previous owners taught him nothing. He's looking for love!

Go meet their pets

Our dogs are seen by appointment only. We do not have set "business hours". We do have other things we have to attend to and can not be tied down by a set schedule.

An application is required before an address and directions are given. We need to be able to determine ahead of time if the person inquiring is eligible to adopt. If not, there is no point in wasting your time or ours.

All dogs listed on our social media sites are available for adoption, and are seeking loving forever homes. When you are applying to adopt, please be considerate of our process, and we will do our best to communicate with you in an appropriated pace. We are 100% volunteer-based, but we will make every attempt to reply to all emails and phone calls within 48 hours.
The decision to place one of our rescue dogs into an adoptive home is not one that we take lightly. We reserve the right to deny any applications and may not disclose the reason for denial. We do not do same day adoptions. We do not operate on a first come first serve basis, as it is our goal to find the absolute best fit for both our dogs and the potential adopters nor will we stop accepting applications on that dog until it has officially been adopted.
In the event that the adopter is no longer able or willing to care for the adopted dog, the adopter understands that the dog MUST be returned to Bigbee Humane Society. Please note that this is stipulated in the adoption contract and Bigbee Humane Society will take legal action should it become necessary.

More about this rescue

Bigbee Humane Society serves as a safe haven for dogs from city pounds in our area facing euthanasia. Until Bigbee Humane Society was formed large numbers of dogs picked up by our local animal controls were euthanized. We are a small rural rescue group/shelter, with 30 outdoor kennels. We have 2 volunteers who work full time jobs and care for our dogs daily. We are responsible for vetting, feeding, cleaning etc each dog daily.
