Augustus Boop is a Volunteer & Staff favorite. Why? Because he makes us laugh and gives us all the love! We know that he is going to make his owner very happy.
Augustus Boop recently went on an outing with a Volunteer where he saw the eclipse! You can check out him in his glasses, enjoying every minute of it on his page. When he walks, his little wiggly body is so close to the ground as he sniffs, that we can’t help but smile everytime. He is endearing, a great and calm leash walker, and very friendly to his humans. He loves cuddles, will always have his tail wagging when you give him affection.
“Go with the flow” is August Boops second middle name. Whether it’s watching the eclipse, tagging along for an errand, or going on a walk- he’s down for any adventure! He has a medium temperament. When he goes on walks, he tires out quick, but still loves every minute of them. We think he would make a great work from home companion and will work himself at your feet. By work, we mean nap! :)

Our shelter has more than 500 available cats and dogs every day! For pets at the shelter: Adoptions must be completed in-person at the shelter. AAC is open for adoption walk-ins every day from 11 a.m. – 7 p.m. A shelter pet’s availability can change at any time, so we recommend choosing a few favorites. For pets in foster: Go to www.AustinAnimalCenter.org to find the pet's profile and click that pet's pink “Adopt Me” button. This will prompt you to complete an adoption questionnaire. Submitting an application does not hold the animal for you.
We have dozens of animals that won't be listed online yet because they're still in their stray hold period, but can be pre-adopted at the shelter in case their owner doesn't come for them.

$80 dogs 6 months to 6 years, 30 lbs and up
$100 dogs under 30 lbs and/or under 6 months
$30 small animals
No fee for senior pets 7 years and older
