Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Sherlock!
Sherlock is an adorable beagle mix puppy, who was born around January 18, 2024. He is up to date on all age-appropriate shots. He weighs around 9lbs, as of April 11th. Sherlock is a parvo survivor and will be ready to go home on April 23rd. He has done a wonderful job recovering and is growing strong and healthy.
Sherlock is a very social and active puppy, who already loves being around people and dogs. He is very playful ang great at tiring himself out. Then, it's time for long naps and endless snuggles!
Sherlock has an independent and adventurous spirit. He is always the first one out of the crate and exploring his surroundings by himself.
He is doing great around other dogs and loves to interact and play with the resident Golden Retriever. We believe Sherlock will do well in a home with dogs of any size and age.
Because he is so young, Sherlock has not started learning to walk on a leash/harness yet. He will get there, though! However, he has started working on potty-training and is doing well for a puppy this age.
Sherlock will need a home where he is not left alone for long periods of time, due to his need for attention from his person and socialization.
Please Note:
1. You must have a dedicated private space for potty and outdoor exploration. Puppies often need additional immunizations before they are allowed to walk in public spaces such as apartment complexes, dog parks and anywhere other animals may be until the puppies are fully immunized.
2. Unless an existing good vet record exists, we will not adopt to anyone further than a 1-hour drive from the listed location. We need to be in close proximity to adopters when we need to follow up on vaccinations and spay/neuter. There is an additional $200 spay/neuter deposit for an adopter within one hour who does not have a current or prior good vet record.
3. Pup cannot be left alone for more than 2-3 hours at a time. This is necessary for comfort breaks and much-needed socialization for a pup this age.
We review veterinary care for applicants. This includes regular well visits, core vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm, and tickborne tests, as well as regular monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. You MUST contact your veterinarian’s office to give them permission to speak to us BEFORE we call them to verify the care you have provided for your pets.
Applications are available at www.puppypawsrescue.org If your application meets our adoption criteria, we will contact you within 1 week. At that time, you will be contacted (usually by email) to schedule a phone interview and a virtual home visit (Facetime, Skype, etc). PLEASE CHECK your SPAM folder for emails from Puppy Paws Rescue.
Due to the volume of applications, applications that do not move forward to an interview may not receive a reply within that time frame. Our rescue is an all-volunteer team managing families, our paying jobs, households, foster dogs, application processing, interviews, home visits, follow-up, transports, and much more. We ask that you be courteous and patient with us.
If you’re seeing this listing the dog/puppy is still available. Please do not send an inquiry asking if the dog/puppy is available.
All of our dogs/puppies are kept in private foster homes. For this reason, we do not schedule meets until after an application has been processed and approved. If you’re interested in meeting the animal, you must first submit an application on our website- www.puppypawsrescue.org.
