Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Athlete's dream dog! Scooby absolutely loves to go on runs and hikes. He's been described as "the best running dog ever" because of his enthusiasm, stamina and runs right beside his handler. Scooby also loves to play ball, go on car rides, and happily chew on bully sticks and kongs.
Scooby was born in a rural shelter and his Mother was a victim of animal cruelty. She was seized by law enforcement and her previous owner is in jail on animal cruelty charges. Because Scooby was born in the shelter they allowed him to be adopted but euthanized his Mother. Scooby was adopted for a very short amount of time, returned because they didn't have time for a puppy, and Scooby was back in the rural shelter with very few resources. He became a staff favorite and one of the kennel staff became his advocate, spending his personal time with Scooby to play ball. Scooby got put on the shelter's euthanization list because of no adoption interest and his high energy in the shelter environment. The kennel staff advocated for Scooby and Beyond the Fight Initiative has placed Scooby in a boarding facility with staff that give him exercise, enrichment and training. He's now been there for a month and is ready to find a home. Multiple staff at the boarding facility take Scooby out into the community for exercise and he's polite and well behaved.
Scooby will need a home with no small children as he's afraid of them. He'll need to be an only dog or his adopter must be committed to a slow introduction process. Scooby is located in Florida but transport is available for the right situation. He's neutered, fully vetted, up to date on all vaccines and is ready to find his forever home.
