BACKGROUND: Kiwi used to live out of a dilapidated apartment building in San Ysidro. Fate and luck brought her into the care of a generous rescuer who later reached out to The Rescue House on her behalf to help Kiwi find a forever home where she can continue to enjoy all the perks of a human-connected lifestyle (getting lots of pets!) but with a dedicated family to call her own.
PERSONALITY: Kiwi is a petite little lovebug! She is one of the most loveable and sweet companion kitties, and absolutely loves humans. She will crawl into your arms to be loved on and kissed and she adores a good pamper session. Enamored by your touch, Kiwi makes the cutest noise to say, “Thank you!” She’ll even roll over on her back and invite you to rub her tummy (which is the highest honor a kitty can bestow). She is very agile. She happily jumps over kid gates, onto dressers and beds, and absolutely loves chasing the laser toy. She also loves a good wand session, and really wants to have play time a few times a day. Several months ago, Kiwi began inexplicably limping; though no specific diagnosis was able to be determined, a monthly injection for feline osteoarthritis has resolved her issue and at this time it is recommended she maintain that treatment. Kiwi tends to be a bit bashful when she first moves into a new environment, and she does like to do things on her own terms, but once she gets her bearings and feels secure then her wonderful personality will shine in full bloom. With her exotic looking features, she can sometimes have a “grumpy cat” look on her face, but she is completely the opposite!
COMPATIBILITY: Kiwi is first and foremost a people-focused kitty; she is very interested in other cats, but easily flustered when they don’t reciprocate her sweetness. She’d rather not live with a cat who would pester her but otherwise could blend with others. We don’t know her thoughts on dogs. She has interacted well with older kids, especially if they are willing to play with her.
Kiwi is the sweetest cat imaginable, and when she gets most excited, does a cute stamping of her back feet in lieu of the usual biscuit making. She loves scratches all up and down her back, and loves nothing more than hanging out with her person. Can you
