My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Believe in Your Natural Super Power!

Meet Bolt! He’s a 1 ½-year-old, Double Merle Great Dane, and just like his cartoon character namesake, this sweet boy believes he's a superstar! Although his journey has been far from Hollywood smooth. Bolt is a handsome boy, and while he is Deaf, he doesn’t let that stop him from exploring the world with a sense of wonder and an incredibly cute, slightly oversized noggin that he's still growing into.

True to his name, Bolt’s got a big heart and a personality that shines like a lightning bolt, full of love, curiosity and a pinch of goofiness. House-trained and quick to learn, he’s still working to pick up on manners. But he already knows “sit” and “come,” and he’s learning even more by following his human’s lead – especially with hand and touch signals. Bolt’s superpower is his ability to correct quickly and easily, showing off his eagerness to please and grow into the best companion he can be.

But here’s where Bolt’s story really takes off. He loves to walk on a leash, with his nose constantly on the trail of something interesting, leading him on exciting adventures. And while he may be deaf, he has a way of tuning into his person’s cues, showing off his intelligence. He’s also a social butterfly who gets along well with other dogs, happy to have new friends by his side as he continues learning the ropes.

Bolt is on a journey to find a home as special as he is, with someone who understands the unique needs of a Double Merle Great Dane and can continue guiding him along his path. He’s looking for an experienced Dane owner who appreciates his big, silly personality and can give him the structure and love he needs to thrive.

If you’re ready to bring Bolt into your life and help him live his own superhero story, submit your application soon! He’s waiting for the right person to become his forever sidekick – maybe it’s you!

Please spread the word to help Bolt find his forever family! Share this post, tag your friends, and let's make sure he finds a family that will give him a wonderful home and all the love he deserves.

White Kisses requires all dogs to be in training within thirty days of adoption. Training is crucial for dogs to learn lifelong skills and to understand their place in the family pack. It is also essential part of getting to know each other and to help your pup become a well-mannered adult GREAT Dane!

Additional adoption info

Before adopting a dog, please remember that this is a life-time commitment.

Ask yourself, do you have the financial means to provide the essential care?

If you rent, you must have landlord's consent.

Are all the animals in your home spayed/neutered? We are pro-spay/neuter and can't adopt or allow you to foster if you have unfixed animals in your home. Your pets must also be current on vaccinations, heart-worm prevention and vet care.

All available dogs are fixed, regardless of age, before they leave our care. We do NOT and will NOT offer spay/neuter contacts.

Please return our phone calls; if you don't, we won't finish processing your application.

White Kisses Great Dane Rescue does evaluate temperament as well as health assessments, but we can make no guarantee's on a dog's health and needs later in life.

Note: Fosters go through an application & home check process as well.

To assist White Kisses GDR in continuing rescue work, Adopter's make a non-refundable donation. This donation is immediately used to pay ongoing costs of rescuing more great danes, including food, veterinary care, kennels, behavior training, etc.
Puppies (under 1 year) - $450.00
Adult Danes (1yo-5yo) - $375.00
Seniors (6yo & up)- $175.00
Mixes- Adoption Donation varies

All dogs in our care are fully vetted, spayed/neutered, dewormed, HW tested and started on HW prevention. They are fully vaccinated, have seen a vet for any veterinary care required and are micro-chipped.

Upon adopting a Great Dane from White Kisses, please give them time to adjust to their new family and environment.

Most Danes will be required to be in training within 30 days of adoption.

More about this rescue

White Kisses Great Dane Rescue is committed to the rescue, rehab and rehoming of Great Danes in Texas and surrounding states. While we do rescue all types of full-blooded Great Danes as well as some Mastiffs and Dane/Mastiff mixes, our passion and #1 priority are the deaf, blind and special needs Great Danes.

We are a non-profit 501(c)3 Great Dane rescue operating solely on donations and the work of volunteers. Every donation helps us provide medical attention, housing, food and all other needs of the Great Danes in our care.

We primarily serve Texas and the surrounding states, with adoptions throughout the U.S. and Canada. Our goal is to not only save these magnificent gentle giants from living poorly cared for lives, but also educating the public regarding Double Merles and the care of these special needs Great Danes. We strive to place each Great Dane in the home that best fits the Dane.

Saving our gentle giants, one kiss at a time.
