Chevy has been waiting almost a year for his forever home, and we can’t believe this lovable boy hasn’t been scooped up yet! This 7-year-old, 45-pound husky mix is the perfect combination of sweet, playful, and well-mannered.

Chevy is a total gentleman—house-trained, kennel-trained, and respectful of your space. He’s affectionate but not pushy, loves belly rubs, and enjoys playing with stuffed toys. He gets along great with other dogs and knows basic commands like sit, down, and wait. He’s not food or toy aggressive, rarely barks, and isn’t a beggar at mealtime. He loves to ride in the car and gets in easily.

While Chevy is wonderful in many ways, he does have a few quirks—he pulls a bit on the leash and has a strong instinct to chase squirrels and cats, so he’ll need a feline-free home. But with his loving personality, excellent manners, and gentle nature, Chevy is such a good boy who deserves a family of his own.

All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.

ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.

Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.

More about this rescue

We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.

Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.

To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
