My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Intake Date: 15 Mar 2024 ------ Adopted 23 March 2024 ------ Returned to Rescue: 28 April 2024 -------- Age at Intake: 2 yrs ----- Breed: Husky Mix ----- Size: 80 lbs ----- Status: Owner Surrender ----- Compatible with: Dogs, cats, calmer children ----- Suitable for: home with a fenced yard, or leash always. Possible apartment. ----- Medical/Behavioral Needs: none noted ----- Additional Notes: Welcome Beau. Another sad situation. His owner was losing a place to live and facing homelessness. For Beau's wellbeing, she made the toughest, selfless decision and asked us to find him a forever home that could care for him. Beau is a sweetheart but he is very shy here. He is a little overweight so we are working on that but should be easy. He seems housetrained and hasn't had a single accident in his room and his owner said he will hold it for hours. He is also very quiet and low energy. He LOVES small dogs. He is so gentle with them! Beau deserves to be in a forever home. Beau was adopted quickly after coming to rescue and really hadn't had time to adjust. I think it was all too quick for him. He was returned to rescue for getting out of their fence, chewing on things when left alone, and being too big in the home running into things. A lot of fear/anxiety and boredom behaviors. They were an elderly couple so Beau probably just needs a bit more exercise and exposure. Time to decompress and stability. He is a doll for us albeit shy. Pupdate: Beau just graduated a board and train and he did great! He bonded strongly with another one of our dogs, Pria. And we would love to see them go to a home together. They LOVE to play. Beau is a doll. Check out his training videos on the rescue's facebook page. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If interested in meeting and potentially adopting please read the adoption requirements and complete the adoption application located at forbellessake.org. Once processed and approved a meet and greet can be scheduled and if a match an adoption is finalized at that time. Adoption fee is $175 and all dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and treated for any known medical needs. Breeds are not guaranteed but often a best guess. Housetraining is not guaranteed but crate training is worked on with all residents. If a yard is present, a secure fence is prioritized.
