My story
Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Bertha
Say hello to Bertha!
Bertha is a beautiful Boxer mix who is approximately 1.5 to 2 years old and currently weighs 40 pounds. She ended up in the dog pound along the Border of Mexico. The animal control officers loved her, and ask us to please help! We are very happy we were able to rescue her and help her find a forever home!
Bertha is a very happy and playful gal! She gets along well with the other dogs in her playgroup here at the rescue, and is amazing on a leash!!! She has so much potential with the right family to teach her!! She is just so happy to learn! She does still have some puppy energy, so would do best in an active home with older kiddos where she can go on lots of walks, runs and/or hike, She is a very smart girl who learns quickly and wants love and attention so badly! She craves being with people! A basic obedience class would be great for her, she wants to please and is very treat motivated! Bertha is a wonderful girl who would be a loyal and loving companion to a loving family!
Bertha is now in a foster home in Castroville, TX and not only that, her foster mom is a dog trainer and works with us at the rescue!
She is doing wonderfully!

Our rescue is one of the first to do Chagas testing for all of the dogs in our care and is having measurable success in the treatment protocol. We are also focused on continued education and awareness of Chagas to help even more dogs. For more information, please review here: https://www.tracyspawsrescue.org/chagas
