Here's what the humans have to say about me:
PHYSICAL FENCE PREFERRED
Callie is a dainty little Rough Collie girl with the sweetest spirit and a penchant for squeaky toys and chew bones! She has been through a lot in her young life so far, but she’s done so well in her foster home that we know she’ll absolutely flourish with a forever family of her own.
Callie is a bit shy at first when she meets new humans, but once she gets to know them, she’s an affectionate girl who loves being petted and getting attention. She does great around adults and around older dog-savvy children, but loud noise and commotion from young or really active children can be frightening for her. We think that a quiet forever home with a low-key lifestyle will suit her best. Callie would also benefit from having a physical fence at her forever home to keep her safe.
Callie especially loves to romp and play with her canine companions. Tug-of-war, chase, and “ruff-housing” are among her favorite games, and Callie isn’t afraid to sneak in to take a toy or pin them down while playing! We know that Callie will do best in a forever family with a playful dog sibling (or two!) to pal around with her and to help her continue building her confidence.
Callie was turned over to our rescue from a shelter, where she had been surrendered because her skin was angry, inflamed, and infected over much of her poor body. After a treatment course of oral medications and medicated baths, her skin and coat have dramatically improved. As you can see in her pictures, her coat is already growing back in beautifully!
Callie is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and she already walks pretty well on leash. She’s still working on her command training, but since she’s incredibly motivated by treats, toys, praise, and affection, we’re confident that with continued practice and guidance, Callie will be a perfectly proper Collie in no time!
If you’ve been looking for a dainty little love bug—and have the time, patience, and love in your heart to help bring out the best in this sweet girl—Callie just might be the perfect pup for you! Fill out an Adoption Application for her today
