Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Handsome Ryuu has been in foster care for 3 years! He has had plenty of applications over the years, however, he was overlooked due to his initial shyness and congenital heart disease. Ryuu has been diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and is on daily medication to help. He is a good boy and takes his medicine well with the help of a Churu treat! Our cardiologist says that Ryuu can still live a decent life on medication and lifestyle modification.
We were told that Ryuu should only be moderately active due to heart disease, however, sometimes he gets a little too much action from playing with the kittens in foster. He also loves to eat kitten food, which has also resulted in unhealthy weight gain. His foster parents love him but they know that the foster environment is not the best for him and hope that he can find a good home.
Although timid at first, Ryuu is actually playful and cuddly when he is comfortable with you. He loves to give you head butts and likes to get pets. You may even find that he will come to lay on your chest for some cuddles and love. His favorite thing to do is go into stealth mode and try to steal little knick knacks to play with. His foster mom reports things like hair ties, pens, pet nail clippers and medicine syringes have all fallen victim to his silly antics.
Ryuu is a sweet boy and just needs some time and patience so that he can trust you. We think the perfect home for Ryuu will be a calm, adult-only home. It would be great if there were older, less active feline friends to snuggle with but not a necessity. He will need a new family that will not shy away from giving him medication every day.
His foster mom is willing to sponsor his donation fee for the purrfect home! Ryuu is 3 years old, neutered, FIV and FeLV negative, and updated on all vaccines. If you can give this boy a fantastic, please send Lori an email at apcatrescue@gmail.com for an application today!
