My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Seasoned Northern Breed Lovers will swoon over Big Muffin’s good looks. He is one of the most beautiful dogs we've had in some time. We suspect that Big Muffin is an ambitious mix of Husky and Chow Chow, which makes him formidable!

Seasoned Northern Breed Lovers will swoon over Big Muffin’s good looks. He is one of the most beautiful dogs we've had in some time. We suspect that Big Muffin is an ambitious mix of Husky and Chow Chow, which makes him formidable!

Big Muffin first entered NYCACC as a stray, and was easily adopted out, but then returned because of Landlord complaints about barking in the apartment. Big Muffin’s second time in the shelter seemed to unnerve him, so he came to our Connecticut Rescue so that we could place him in a less stressful country environment.

Big Muffin loves people and is not the kind of dog who would be happy stuck in an apartment or back yard all day. He loves to be the center of attention. In fact, Big Muffin loves people so much that when he met our UPS Driver, he tried to take a ride with him!

Big Muffin has the full, thick and lush Husky double coat, white with tan markings. A broad forehead and purple splashed tongue reveal Big Muffin’s Inner Chow. His big brown eyes seem to twinkle with impending impish mischief.

At 3.5 years old, Big Muffin is past the puppy mayhem stage, and has generally good house manners. His breed mix requires a lot of exercise. Big Muffin is typical of the Husky Court Jester personality, but also seems to exude a serious Chow side. Anyone interested in sharing their home with this breed mix must bring their A game to the table.

Big Muffin needs a savvy handler to maintain his equlibrium. If he becomes bored, or frustrated, he can make some mischief. Exercise and discipline, as well as formal obedience training should be part of his life, as well as lots of action and human contact.

Big Muffin has adapted well to foster care and he would do well in the adult home of an experienced Northern Breed enthusiast, who has the time to make him a priority, and has the active lifestyle to keep him engaged. He is coming along nicely on his Canine Good Citizenship training, and has the potential to reach certification.

Big Muffin has good house manners, and he is housetrained and crate trained, although Adopters should expect some accidents as he transitions to a new life. He is in great health, and has been neutered, and has received routine vaccinations and health screenings, If you are interested in Big Muffin, please write to Angelsfrgod@aol.com or call/text Denise at 860-908-9738.

Additional adoption info

When we receive your completed application we will check your references, including your veterinarian, and then call you to discuss your situation and requirements.. If you are approved for adoption, we can then discuss with you which of the dogs might fit best into your life. We will either arrange for you to visit the dog in its foster home, by appointment, or transport the dog to your home.

To help cover the veterinary expenses of our foster Eskies and to support our rescue effort, Eskies Online will charge you an adoption fee of $350.00. We do not sell dogs. We charge a flat fee--whether the Eskie is a puppy or an older dog; whether it came to us with minimal veterinary needs or requiring major medical care; whether the Eskie makes a short or a long stay in our foster system.

More about this rescue

Eskies Online is a 501(c)(3) Multibreed rescue group that serves unwanted American Eskimos and other dogs in need and finds qualified, permanent, adoptive homes for them. In the foster home environment, we are able to evaluate the dog's temperament and behavior patterns away from the stress of shelter life. Eskies Online is funded entirely through adoption fees, donations and the generosity our volunteers.
