*** Sophie is is at The Cat Cafe in downtown San Diego ***
Brown/black tabby, short hair, spayed female, born approx. 2/14/22, #18929
Other cats: good solo, possibly a mellow cat Dogs: unknown Children: older cat-savvy kids
Sophie had a hardscrabble start to life. She was born in the home of a hoarder and was living with many many other cats before they all ended up fending for themselves. Sophie had several litters of kittens who sadly did not survive, but in the process of a rescuer trying to save her and her most recent babies, she was able to move into foster care. Now that she’s got the chance to build up her resources and relax in the security of that foster home, Sophie is looking forward to finding a family to adopt and love her forever!
Sophie understandably likes to take a bit of time to scope out and get used to new circumstances, and then she relaxes and shows just how much of a companion kitty she’ll be for her special person. As a younger cat and now free of living only to survive, Sophie is REALLY enjoying getting to play with toys! Interactive wands are awesome, and in the evenings Sophie regularly gets a case of the hyper-zoomies, racing around and around her space. She would love it if her people have a lot of time to engage and play with her. In calmer moments, she will hang out with you, and as Sophie gets to know you better, that hanging out turns into longer petting sessions and closer contact and then lap time and she`ll even give you kitty kisses! We think she’ll be quite the cuddler for her forever people.
Sophie is appreciating having a little breathing space from the crowd she grew up in, particularly feisty kittens, though she may be able to coexist with a more mellow adult cat and would be happy as a solo kitty. We don’t know her thoughts on dogs. Since she can sometimes get overstimulated, we feel that younger children who don’t understand that would not be the best fit; older cat-savvy kids approaching their tweens may be fine.
Sweet Sophie’s future is looking as bright as her gorgeous green eyes! Will you make her dream come true and love her for a lifetime?
