My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My name is Evelyn, and I am a very special and unique girl. I was saved off the euthanasia list from another shelter, and I am adjusting well to the sanctuary, but I do have my moments where I still am unsure and confused. I can be very affectionate and sweet, but I also can be a bit of a brat...what can I say? I'm a cat. You would need to understand that I like to do my own thing, and I will come to you when I want you to pet me, and you will stop petting when I say so. I will keep you company and be your feline friend, but I will never be the cuddly type. I would do best in a home just by myself: no kids, no other kitties, maybe a dog if they minded their business. I am a specific cat needing a specific home. But I promise I am a good girl.

Mission Statement

Fat Kitty City Humane Society (The Agee Memorial Wildlife Fund, Inc.) is a non-profit 501(c)3 Corporation, dedicated to ending needless animal suffering, through spaying, neutering, socializing, adopting and other aggressive approaches.

Our objectives are:
Provide a "no-kill" sanctuary for unwanted, Feline AIDS positive or negative, abused, neglected, feral, tame, stray or lost pets.

When possible, each pet will be rehabilitated, socialized and adopted (with a microchip) to a good family.

Those pets that cannot be rehabilitated, will live out their lives in our sanctuary, in dignity. They will receive love, housing, food and veterinary care.

To spay or neuter every pet we receive, to reduce unnecessary suffering.

Provide reasonable space for each pet to live out a high quality of life (not to live out their lives in small cages with barely enough room to move around).

Provide relief from the weather by providing a heated shelter during cold weather, etc.

Provide stimulation. A yard with trees to climb, lawn and dirt to play in and toys to enjoy.
