My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Aubrey is a gorgeous husky mix who needs a bit of time to warm up to new people. Though she can be reserved at first, she's a big fan of other dogs - especially the bigger ones. Aubrey would prefer a home without young kids, as she can be a bit timid around them. When she gets excited, she'll spin in circles - it's hard not to smile when you see her in action! Aubrey walks well on a leash and is always up for a good adventure. With a little patience and understanding, she'll be your best friend in no time. Due to her breed and energy level, she is not eligible for apartment/condo living and will require a fully fenced in yard. Our Adoption Fees are:

Kittens (under 12 months): $175.00
Adult Cats: (over 12 months) $150.00
Puppies (under 12 months): $250.00
Adult Dogs (over 12 months): $225.00

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING: A $75 training deposit is applicable to any and all dogs who are expected to be or are currently larger than 25 pounds. This deposit is in addition to standard adoption fees. The training deposit of $75 will be refunded if the adopter and the adopted animal successfully complete a basic obedience class within 6 months of adoption AND provide a copy of the certificate to Valley Animal Haven.

* Adoption Fees are subject to change; please email for additional information or questions.

We require a pre-adoption application for us to review prior to approval of an adoption. Home inspections may be required. If you have a dog that is living in the home, we highly encourage a meet and greet with the dog you are interested in at the shelter. This is a good way to see how they interact in a controlled and neutral location. If you rent a home or apartment, we need verification from the landlord that you can have a pet there. This can be a phone call, email or show that you have paid a pet deposit.

More about this shelter

VALLEY ANIMAL HAVEN
A NON-PROFIT / NO-KILL ANIMAL SHELTER

Valley Animal Haven is the forty year old "Dream Come True" of our founder, Pam Brasil

Pam had a dream of one day having a shelter that would operate solely for the purpose of saving the lives of helpless and homeless animals. This dream was born when she saw a program about an animal shelter, in the Midwest, that had been destroyed by an arsonist who hated dogs. Pam's heart broke at such human cruelty. There were 80 beautiful dogs destroyed in that fire. She purposed that someday she would be able to provide a safe HAVEN for dogs and cats. That dream has become a reality with the opening of VALLEY ANIMAL HAVEN.

We work closely with other local rescue groups and shelters throughout the San Joaquin Valley to help re-home as many animals as possible. There are tens of thousands of beautiful animals waiting for help.

Please join us in our mission to provide these animals with the help that they so desperately need and deserve. Our hope is that, one day, no animal will have to suffer at the hands of abusive owners.
