Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hello! I would love to introduce myself to you, my name is…. well, I guess the current human usually calls me Ted, or Ted E. Bear, or Good Boy, or Love Bug, so honestly, I’m not sure anymore.
I’ve been a week with the new human and his pack, so I currently have 3.5 brothers, one brother goes “home” almost every night, so he is the half. They all love to play so I get to burn lots of energy. We also go for a couple of walks every day, Foster Dad loves that I am first in line to get my gear (harness and collar) on every walk. I usually walk beside him rather than dragging him along like the rest of the pack, however I play a little joke on him where if he has clipped me or is holding my leash on the right side I will drop back and swing around to his left and vice versa, hey I can’t let him think I’m perfect!
While my new home does have a nice kennel with a great bed in it, he leaves the door open so I can come and go as I please, the first night I settled in but when he didn’t close the door I decided to see where everyone else went. They were sleeping on the bed with the human, I decided I was going to sleep under them. FD heard some scratching and thought I lost a toy under the bed, so he got up and grabbed a flashlight, he came back to the bedside and wondered where I came from since he didn’t see me when he got up. He got down and looked under the bed and didn’t see anything, until of course I went back under the bed again. Did I mention I like tight spaces?
The second night I went right under the bed at bedtime but when he came back from his midnight potty break, he saw me looking at him, so he moved over a bit and tapped the bed, I didn’t miss a beat and jumped up and snuggled in. Now I’ve got him trained to move over every night to make room for me, he is easy to train!
The other dogs are very food motivated and like their treats during the walk, I’m not really interested. He laughs because even the post walk treats if he breaks the big bones in half I’m not interested, but I will take a full one, a guy's got to have his standards after all.
FD says I’m smart because when we are playing outside, I will chase him and grab at his gloves, but the other day he wasn’t wearing any so instead I went for his jacked sleeve. Even if you are not food motivated you do NOT bite the hand that feeds you!
So quick synopsis, I love walks and burning off energy, I am great with all dogs, I love to cuddle and be close to my human, will eat my kibble but not really food motivated. I am not destructive, but I do like to hold stuff that stinks, e.g. Socks / slippers / couch pillow.
Ted has not been tested with cats. While he's a pretty outgoing and loves everyone pup, if you have a cat, we would need to cat test him before he'd be able to leave for his new home.
If you are interested in Ted, please fill out an application on our website and a volunteer will be in touch within 48 hours. https://foreverfido.org/adoptable-dogs/
