Sweet Mika has been looking for a home since 3/14/24. She greets everyone with excitement thinking each one could be her new family, but she calms down quickly. She’s typically got a medium energy level and is the best of both worlds: she’ll play when you want to play, but she’s also just as happy to lay around and relax. Mika loves everyone, but she’ll REALLY love you if you have treats. They’re the secret to her heart. This good girl is happy to earn them by sitting on command, and she always takes them from you gently. She’s also already potty trained. Mika’s friendliness extends to other dogs too! She’s enjoyed meeting them in shelter playgroups and spending time with them in a previous foster home.

Our regular adoption fee is $100 payable by money order or credit card. The fee covers basic vaccinations, Rabies vaccination, microchip, heart worm testing for dogs, and the spay/neuter surgery.

You will be required to sign to an adoption contract and other paperwork relating to the adoption of your new family member.

Go meet their pets

Our kennel hours are Monday-Friday 10 am to 4 pm and Wednesday also from 5 pm to 7 pm. We are open Saturday from 11 am to 3 pm and closed on Sunday.

More about this shelter

We are an open admission, municipal shelter serving the unincorporated area of Fort Bend County, TX.

We are the county's rabies control authority as well as being their animal shelter. On average, we take in approximately 4,000-5,000 pets per year.

The staff at FBCAS is small but each and every one of us is dedicated to making the stay of the pets in our care as comfortable as possible. Our hearts are in this and with every pet that crosses our threshold.

We are part of the amazing Fort Bend County community and we are always striving to work with our community people and partners to make our shelter the best it can be.

We can always use new volunteers to help us keep our pets happy and healthy while they wait for their forever home.
