Age:3

Weight: 115

Location: New Hope, PA

Nicknames: Beary or Baby Bear

Good with other dogs?: No, must live as only dog but is safe with other dogs away from home.
Bear is not dog aggressive but he doesn't like sharing his people. As you can see from photos, he really doesn't care about other dogs unless a person is is paying attention to another dog. He plays through a fence but gets jealous

Good with cats? unknown, will not be adopted to a home with a cat

Good with children? OK for kids over: 10

Activity Preference: Needs in-house activities, Up for a long hike any day., Low maintenance overall but needs quality outside time., Will go with the flow

IQ: Smart

Bear's favorite things: PEOPLE. He loves every person he meets! He enjoys frozen marrow bones, collagin sticks and snackies but spending time w/people is his fave.

Bear is good at: meeting people, behaving in the house, going for car rides, making me feel safe

Ideal home: a fenced yard

Training Needs: socialization with dogs

Health issues: He had fluid build-up in his elbow from lying on a congrete floor in the shelter. It is slowly going away.

Meet Bear

WE LOVE BEAR!!! He is a joy to be around and will bring sunshine into your life. You can't have a bad day with him. He is sweet, snuggly and he makes you feel like you are everything. He is funny, he knows sit and give paw and eager to learn more.

PLEASE READ: Adopters will not be considered without completing an application. Please visit www.AmericanBulldogRescue.org to apply! Remember - Adoption is always the best option! If you can't help by adopting a homeless pet, please consider making a tax-deductible donation to American Bulldog Rescue, 4 Terry Drive, Suite 1D Newtown, PA 18940 or paypal AmericanBulldogRescue@verizon.net. We cannot place dogs in homes with children under 10 unless that dog has lived with kids or is in a foster home with kids. Thank you.

To be considered for adoption, you must apply using our free, online application. Our dogs are fostered in our volunteers' homes, not in a central shelter/location. Only approved applicants are put into contact with the foster family to setup a meeting with the foster dog. Visit our Adoption Policies web page for more information and a link to our application: http://americanbulldogrescue.org/adoption-policies/.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

To adopt one of our love-a-bull dogs, you must submit an application on our website at www.americanbulldogrescue.org. Applications must meet minimum requirements (policies are listed our site). Applicants have their vet and personal references checked . The next step is a home visit by one of our volunteers. Finally, the applicant will be put in touch with the foster family to arrange to meet the dog! If a happy match is made, the applicants sign an adoption contract and provide an adoption donation. The donation is usually $400.

Go meet their pets

Adoption events will be posted on our Facebook page. Our foster dogs live in homes with our volunteers. We do not have a facility where interested people can visit the dogs. If you are interested in meeting any of our dogs, please submit an adoption application available on our website.
