Bunny is one of the sweetest cats you’ll meet. She is pretty independent and likes to spend her time grooming her beautiful fur. She particularly loves to be pet around her face. While she doesn’t necessarily try to sit on your lap, she is very friendly and not afraid of strangers. She likes to hold down her kitten, Ducky so that she can groom her, while Ducky is focused on playing with her tail.
Bunny is usually more interested in grooming herself than playing with toys, but occasionally she’s ready to play! Bunny and Ducky have been entertained by the turntable ball tower toy, which they sometimes play with together, passing the balls back and forth.
Bunny is a purr machine! She’s usually relatively calm, but sometimes she’ll mimic her daughter’s silly behavior. Bunny and baby Ducky wandered onto a front porch this winter. They were regularly fed, but had only a thin nylon house for shelter. After Ducky developed a problem with one of her eyes, those feeding them eventually reached out to the Chicago Cat Rescue for help which placed them both in a loving foster home until they could find their forever home.
We plan to place Bunny and Ducky in a forever home together as they have been together all of Ducky’s life. Both would benefit from having a companion and playmate.

CCR adopts to forever homes in Chicago or the very near suburbs that are within 10 miles of our Chicago foster families. We love our cats and we pledge support for the rest of their lives, which is why our location limits are in place. We appreciate your understanding. If you are outside of these limits, please check petfinder.com, which allows searching by zip code, for cats closer to your home.
At Chicago Cat Rescue, we are dedicated to both the physical and emotional well-being of the cats and kittens in our care. For this reason, unless expressly stated, we do not place cats or kittens in homes where they will be the only cat. Generally, cats love the company of other cats, and can become quite lonely when living alone.
Kittens will only be placed in pairs, or to join another kitten or young cat in your home.
Chicago Cat Rescue is an entirely foster-based organization. Our ability to help more cats in need is dependent on our availability of foster homes. If you think you could provide a loving foster situation for a cat in need, or would like to learn more about our foster program, please email us, info@chicagocatrescue.org. Thank you!
