Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Nugget!
Nugget was born around January 15, 2024. He is a bully mix, and puppy perfection!
Nugget is the cutest little (for now) thing! He is super playful and loves to wrestle his sister. He plays and plays, stops for a belly rub, plays some more, stops for a treat, and plays again. He loves to run, chew on sticks, get pets, and he is already learning to fetch.
He is super outgoing and loves meeting new people. Nugget has a playful and friendly personality, and he gets along great with the resident dogs. He is not afraid of much!
Nugget loves to chew, so make sure all those chew toys are ready and available for a fun time! When outside, you will often find him with a stick in his mouth. Because he is so curious, he is easily redirected and will start playing with something else quickly.
Nugget is an active puppy, and he needs someone that will give him the opportunity to burn his energy. He is super fun to watch and interact with; he will make you laugh!
He is very social and wants to be near people and other dogs. He seeks out people's attention and loves to snuggle. He has been doing great with kids. When he is finally tired from having fun, he will lie next to you for a long nap.
Nugget is doing amazing with potty training. Given the chance to potty outside, he barely goes inside the house. Nugget sleeps through the night, which is wonderful for a puppy this young. He loves his meals and treats.
Please Note:
1. You must have a dedicated private space for potty and outdoor exploration. Puppies often need additional immunizations before they are allowed to walk in public spaces such as apartment complexes, dog parks and anywhere other animals may be until the puppies are fully immunized.
2. Unless an existing good vet record exists, we will not adopt to anyone further than a 1-hour drive from the listed location. We need to be in close proximity to adopters when we need to follow up on vaccinations and spay/neuter. There is an additional $200 spay/neuter deposit for an adopter within one hour who does not have a current or prior good vet record.
3. Pup cannot be left alone for more than 2-3 hours at a time. This is necessary for comfort breaks and much-needed socialization for a pup this age.
We review veterinary care for applicants. This includes regular well visits, core vaccinations, spay/neuter, heartworm, and tickborne tests, as well as regular monthly heartworm prevention and flea/tick prevention. You MUST contact your veterinarian’s office to give them permission to speak to us BEFORE we call them to verify the care you have provided for your pets.
Applications are available at www.puppypawsrescue.org If your application meets our adoption criteria, we will contact you within 1 week. At that time, you will be contacted (usually by email) to schedule a phone interview and a virtual home visit (Facetime, Skype, etc). PLEASE CHECK your SPAM folder for emails from Puppy Paws Rescue.
Due to the volume of applications, applications that do not move forward to an interview may not receive a reply within that time frame. Our rescue is an all-volunteer team managing families, our paying jobs, households, foster dogs, application processing, interviews, home visits, follow-up, transports, and much more. We ask that you be courteous and patient with us.
If you’re seeing this listing the dog/puppy is still available. Please do not send an inquiry asking if the dog/puppy is available.
All of our dogs/puppies are kept in private foster homes. For this reason, we do not schedule meets until after an application has been processed and approved. If you’re interested in meeting the animal, you must first submit an application on our website- www.puppypawsrescue.org.
