JT was adopted from MCHS and lived with Mia in a wonderful home for 6 years. Their owner died unexpectedly so the 2 were returned to MCHS because no one in the family could take them. Originally JT was rescued by a concerned citizen who found him wandering on the street. He was probably born in May, 2018. This guy is very mellow and easy-going and just a tad shy about life here at MCHS. He is neg for feline leukemia/FIV, is neutered and is current on shots. He will be adopted as an indoor only cat and the adoption fee is $50 (or 2 cats for $75). To meet JT or any of our other great cats, goto mchs.rescuegroups.org and complete and submit our online application. We will review and get in touch to set up a meeting time. For dogs, there is an application form that needs to be completed a few days ahead of time, before we are able to release an animal. We review applications to make sure there is a compatible fit between adoptive home and the characteristics of the animal. Adoption fees for dogs range from $95 to $150

Regular animal viewing hours are at the Shelter on Tuesdays from 4:30PM to 6PM, and Sundays from 2PM to 4PM. Other days/times can be arranaged by appointment.

The Mower County Humane Society is run entirely volunteers. The group strives to take in homeless and stray dogs and cats and place them into responsible, lifelong homes.
NOTE: The Shelter address does not register correctly on Google maps. Our Shelter is east of the Charter cable office in Austin MN. This is off of Hwy 218 south - our shelter is east of the highway just off the eastern tip of Oakland Avenue. The official address is 101 22nd Street SE
