My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Meet Eddy - The Gentle Giant Looking for His Forever Home"

Hi there, my name is Eddy and I'm a 3-year-old Great Dane/Husky mix. I may look like a pony, weighing in at 80 pounds, but I assure you, I'm just a big softie at heart. I'm hoping my forever family is out there, reading this bio right now.

I have some special traits that make me stand out from the rest. My gentle and laid back nature has earned me the title of "gentle giant." I love going for walks and I'm well-behaved on a leash. Plus, I'm fully potty trained.

I may be a bit shy at first, but once I warm up to you, I'll be your constant companion. I have a discerning taste in friends, but once I trust you, I'll be your best friend for life. I'm affectionate, easygoing, and charming. My intelligence makes me a quick learner and I'll always be eager to please you. I love my people and enjoy being around others.

I also get along great with others. My previous home reported that I was used to living with kids, cats, birds, livestock, and other dogs. I love everyone and everything! I have quite a few doggy friends here at the shelter, but I'd still love to meet any potential doggy siblings before going home with them! So, if you have room in your heart and home for a loving and loyal companion like me, please come and meet me. I promise I'll steal your heart and make the best addition to your family. Let's start our forever journey together!

I am fixed, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, neutered and ready to go home with you, so please come visit me!

Please call between 10am-4pm to schedule an appointment to meet one of our animals! 928-282-4679

More about this shelter

Our Vision - Be Our Heart & Voice
Building a caring community where every adoptable and treatable pet finds a life-long loving home.

Our Mission
The Humane Society of Sedona is a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of pets in our community and beyond. The Society has served the Verde Valley since 1966.

The Linda and Allan Brecher Center for Animals at the society is designed to allow every person, who desires the love of a pet, to adopt and provide a forever loving home. The Center provides quality care and positive reinforcement behavior training for adoptable pets. Passionate volunteers help walk and socialize the pets in our care. Foster pet parents are an important part of caring for pets outside the Center.

The Society provides vital services for pets and people alike through income-based affordable spay/neuter surgeries and vaccination clinics. Also, for families in need to feed their pets, we have a Pet Food Program.

Another public resource is our adult and youth educational programs.

The Society relies on community support, contributions, grants, bequests, investments, proceeds from the Society’s thrift stores and some fees for service in order to save pets’ lives.
