Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Rita!
Oh, hello! My name is Rita, a short and sweet name, just like my stature. My name means "pearl," a great rarity of worth, and I think that describes me quite well. As a senior lady who can't see or hear too well anymore, I might need to be picked up and carried places, and I will never tell you not to hold me. Being just 8 pounds, I'd be easy enough for you to take me with you wherever you'd like. I do well with other dogs of all sizes and make them friends quite quickly. Since I'm such a small gal and quite vision impaired, small children wouldn't be ideal in my forever home. I go potty outside, like a true lady, and I've learned the lay of the land in my foster home quite quickly, so I know I can do it again in my forever home!
I recently went to the vet, and they said my kidneys aren't super great, so now I have special food for my special body, and that's all! No medicine. Just keep an eye on my levels. The dogtor said I'm otherwise very healthy! I enjoy going for car rides and sit nicely without moving all about. I love being with my humans, especially when we can snuggle together. I'm looking for my forever family where I'm free to give my love and get the same in return. If you think you could do that for me, I'm ready to go home with you!
*Rita is being fostered in the Palmyra, WI area.
