You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.
Sweet Meeka was sadly dumped at a cemetery with her siblings. She kept taking off and going to the cemetery shop where finally SJR foster finally caught her and brought her in. She's okay with other cats. Slow intros with dogs.

Our primary concern is finding our animals a safe, loving home. However, we do have all of our rescue animals fully vetted prior to adoption to include wellness exams, spay or neuter, rabies vaccinations, distemper vaccinations, bordatella vaccinations, heartworm testing, heartworm treatment if applicable, keep them on monthly heartworm until they are adopted, have them treated for any illnesses or injuries, etc. With the rising cost of vetting, we do have a minimum $300 adoption donation for puppies and dogs over 5 months of age and $350 for puppies under 5 months of age however, since we are a 501c3, Non-Profit, Charitable Organization, your adoption donation is fully tax deductible! We require the adopter to fill out our application; which entails vet checks, personal reference checks, background info which can be found on our website at www.southjerseyrescue.com. If the application is approved on paper, we then do require a home visit and a meet & greet in your home. Final requirement is to sign an adoption contract, stating they will provide medical care when needed, keep the animal indoors, provide us with change of address/phone #, return animal to us if there is a problem.

We have 5 fundraisers a year! A Family and Friend Fun Day at Silvestro Lake Park in Gibbstown, NJ in June or July, two bake sales, one in November, and one in April. A yard sale in late September, and a homemade soup sale in January. Our animals are in different housing locations, but we often showcase them at our fundraisers, and also at Petco in Sewell, NJ

More about this rescue
We are a small, private, 501c3, Non-Profit Animal Rescue consisting of a group of girls (women actually!) who love animals, and devote most of our lives helping those who need homes, medical care, love, or safety from an unhealthy, unsafe, or questionable environment. We do not have a housing facility, so our animals are in our own homes, or foster homes. A lot of the money necessary to care for our animals, comes from our own pocketbooks, but it's a sacrifice we gladly make, for the animals we love! We are proud to have built a wonderful reputation in our community as a responsible rescue that goes way beyond the call of duty.
