Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Wonton is ACCT's newest dumpling: he's a ball of love in an adorable wrapper! This little chico was found trying to cross a busy road and brought to ACCT by a kind person who described him as friendly and shy. Come meet this low rider who is determined to be your own personal lap dog!
Wonton is eligible for rescue, foster, and adoption. Meet him at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering him.
Behavioral notes --
Per volunteer on 3/21: Wonton was a wonderful ham who was super happy to get out. He loves pets and being on your lap. Wonton doesn't know his size and is determined to be a lap dog. He's deceptively heavy! One of those low rider pitties that are super dense lol. Wonton enjoyed fetching soft plush toys but was less interested in tennis balls or ropes. He took every type of treat I offered with a soft mouth. Wonton may jump when excited but is doing well when redirected to keep all four paws on the ground.
Per staff on 3/19: Got Wonton out for some activity time today. He was loose and wiggly in kennel and patient with leashing. He walked very nicely through the kennels with minimal pulling. When we got to the room he immediately started seeking out toys and affection. He would mouth and toss a toy around for a few minutes and then drop it and come up to me for affection. He's perfectly playful and cuddly! He chased around a tennis ball with the goofiest arm slaps and loved chewing on a squeaky stuffed toy. He didn't destroy the toy, just wanted to mouth and chew on it. Wonton loves to receive and give affection, and will cover you in face kisses if you let him. He also showed off some guard dog skills. He saw someone walking by at the same time a loud barking started, and Wonton got up and began alert barking at the window. He was easily called off but was still alert to any new barking afterwards. We played fetch with a squeaky toy and that seemed to help distract him the best. When it was time to return he walked back through the kennels without much pulling and kenneled easily. Overall, Wonton is an all around good boy!
Per staff on 3/17: Did a dog meet with Hammer. Has a lot of energy. Was very excitable and just wanted to say hi to Hammer. Definetly wanted to play. Did not totally seem to understand boundaries or how to stop.
