Meet Mila, a spirited adult dog with a heart full of love and energy. Her playful nature is infectious, bringing joy and laughter to all around her. Mila`s friendly demeanor extends to dogs, cats, and children alike, making her a social butterfly of the animal kingdom. She is a hit at the dog park. She`s incredibly affectionate, always ready to share a cuddle or a gentle nuzzle. Her lovable personality shines through in everything she does, from her enthusiastic game of tug to her quiet moments of companionship. She weighs 59 pounds and also likes car rides, toys, and walks where she is well behaved on a leash with just a little pulling. Mila`s boundless energy and affection make her a perfect addition to any family. Her friendly, social nature means she will fit in beautifully with other pets and children. She is protective and loyal. Her house training is on point, and she`s known to be a bit noisy, but that`s just her way of communicating her love. She was given up because the apartment neighbors thought she was too vocal. Mila needs a house to call her own, a place where she can sing to her heart`s content. Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

A second dog or puppy, adopted within 30 days of the first adoption receives a $20 discount.

Military Families - 50% of adoption fees waived for military personnel and veterans. (proof of eligibility required)

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
