Dog's Name: Mochi (MOC0124SMTFSHW)
Estimated Breed: Shepherd / Lab Mix
Approximate Age: 5-6 years
Approximate Weight: 55 lbs
Currently Living at: Boarding
Adoption Fee: $450
DOG'S DESCRIPTION: Hello, I'm Mochi. I'm young, gentle and sweet, but sometimes I get a bit nervous. You see my owner passed away recently and I was turned in by a family member. I'm sad and confused, but despite my situation, I'm learning to trust more each day. My curiosity keeps me exploring my surroundings and my gentle nature makes me a good companion for those quiet moments. I love hanging out with humans and even cats, but I prefer a home without little ones. Since I've been rescued by K-9 Lifesavers, I’ve met some new dogs and I enjoy the calmer dogs; I'm more of a "let's sit and enjoy each other's company" kinda gal. Although I found out I was Heartworm positive, K-9 Lifesavers is making sure I receive the life saving treatment I deserve to keep me healthy. If you're looking for a sweet, loyal, and calm friend who will stick by your side, I'm your gal. I promise to make your life a whole lot sweeter.
My foster mom reported that I am calm, gentle, and accepting loving gestures. She also says that I am mostly potty trained, do well in my crate, and that I would do best in a home with a fenced-in back yard. My new fur-ever family should be able to give me some space given the changes I have recently been through, but also know that I am resilient, that I warm up, and that when I do, I am a love bug! I adore those of the feline persuasion and would love a home to call my own. I imagine this fur-ever home is a place where I can feel safe and loved.

Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.
Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
