Hi there, I'm Maggie May, a super loving and sweet beagle girl! I can be a bit shy at first due to my past... I spent the majority of my life at an animal testing laboratory where I was subjected to painful experiments. Most people don't know that animal testing involves experimentation on sweet dogs like me. But, now that I've been rescued by Beagle Freedom Project, I am loving my new life and gaining confidence every day! Once I trust you, my favorite thing is to get lots of attention, pets, and cuddles! I'm dreaming of a loving, calmer, forever home that's looking for an easy-going companion. While I absolutely adore people, I can be a bit weary of other dogs, so I'll do best in a home where I can be the apple of your eye. I promise to give my adopter all of the love and affection that I have to offer! Could you give me my forever home?

Interview
If your application is approved, you will be contacted by our team for a pre-adoption interview.

Home Check
After your pre-adoption interview, you will join a video call with our team to complete a virtual home check.
4.
Take the Pet Home
Once your interview, home check, and reference checks are complete, you will pick up your new companion to begin an adoption trial.
5.
Sign Adoption Contract
If, after an adoption trial, you decide that your new companion is your perfect match, you will then sign the adoption contract.

ABOUT OUR ADOPTION PROCESS: Standardly, Beagle Freedom Project does not facilitate animal meet and greets. Instead, we begin all BFP adoptions with a trial-period; this is called ‘fostering-to-adopt’. At BFP, we believe that the best way for an adopter to be certain that an animal is their perfect match is by giving them an opportunity to truly know each other before finalizing an adoption. As BFP animals come from such traumatic pasts, they can often be shy upon a first meeting. Foster-to-adopt trials allow these special animals an opportunity to decompress and show their authentic personality before an official adoption decision is made.
