My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Mowgli! Mowgli is a one year old Staffordshire Terrier/Australian Shepherd mix who weighs approximately 75 pounds.

His superpowers include being completely housebroken and crate trained. He lives with other dogs and cats and does great with them! Though he may bark at other dogs initially upon meeting them, he warms up once he gets to know them. Mowgli is easily redirected and listens to the words "no" or "leave it", which makes training a breeze. He will do just about anything for treats, loves playing with toys, and of course enjoys a frozen peanut butter Kong.

Mowgli walks well on a leash, but can be reactive in certain situations. His foster mom is working on this behavior, and we're sure he'll do great in no time!

Mowgli is a high energy pup, and would thrive in a home in the suburbs with a fenced in yard so he can run and play! He would also love a family who will play catch and run around with him.

Overall, Mowgli is a great house guest and snuggle bug! He loves attention and praise, and will make a great companion with a little work and a lot of love. He makes friends daily, and is ready for his forever home!

Mowgli is currently being fostered in Ewing , NJ. His adoption fee is $425.

All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.

For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.

We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
