Beano is an eight-month-old purebred black male miniature schnauzer. He is a rescue originally from Oklahoma that we picked up in LA four months ago from another rescue organization. He is our fifth schnauzer and we fostered schnauzers several years ago. There are two of us, I’m in my 70’s and my partner has health issues affecting his mobility. The primary reason that we want to rehome Beano is that he is a runner and has slipped away from us several times. So far we have been able to catch him or coax him back home, but the last time I tripped on some stairs, landed on a sidewalk on my head while chasing him and ended up in the ER. We live in Dolores Heights in San Francisco with steep streets in all directions. We are afraid that he will slip away from us and we won’t be able to coax him back or catch him and he will get injured or killed in traffic or by a larger dog or coyote and suffer.
