Here's what the humans have to say about me:
"Meet Henry, the special boy who is as loving and gentle as can be. Our big goofball is a friendly, affectionate, and playful doggie who loves to shower his humans with kisses and big smiles. He is partial to men and prefers to hang out with his human dad most of the day. Henry is the perfect combination of a playful pup and a couch potato, and he gets along with everyone he meets, human or canine. Henry is an all-around great dog who loves making new friends, going on adventures, and just hanging out at home. He is sure to bring laughter and joy into your life. Henry is a healthy adult dog who is housebroken, neutered, and up to date on all his vaccinations and preventatives for fleas, ticks, and heartworms. He did test low positive for Heartworms and has received treatment. Currently he is on meditation until completed. He will need to retest every six months and it’s mandatory that he receives treatment if he is positive again. Preventions and less time outdoors with exposure to mosquitoes will limit that possibility. He is a flight risk and runs or darts under any sheds or buildings as soon as he goes outdoors; so walking him on a leash and being extra cautious when opening a door to go outside of the home is a must until he is comfortable in his new environment. He needs that reassurance that he won’t just be left out all day, sad and alone like his previous owners let him experience his whole life. He would make a wonderful addition to any family or as a companion to another furry friend. If you're looking for a funny, sweet, and adorable dog, Henry is the one for you! We would love to hear from you if you think you can give Henry his forever home. Please get in touch with the adoption center to arrange a meeting with Henry today!"
Henry was at a shelter in Cuero, Texas for several months. He was adopted and returned several times for no fault of his own. They said he was not playful enough with their puppy or he slept too much, not realizing he was heartworm positive and had an infection in his heart that needed medication and treatment to perk up and feel life in his body again. He was scheduled to be euthanized and we couldn’t bare the thought of that for this precious senior boy. He is right around 40 pounds, 7-8+ years old, neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped. He has done great with doggies, kiddos, does well in the crate, needs a little more guidance with the leash; just pulls with it a little but with consistently working with him, he will get it down. Although he prefers the harness setup and does wonderful. If you would like to meet Henry, please contact us.
