Buck's mother was abandoned by her owner. She was pregnant, when Lydia-Poochmatch, received her. Only 2 of her puppies survived. Buck was one of them. Buck is a happy little guy. He is being Fostered in Beaumont. He is living with several other dogs, ranging from 7 lbs to 75 lbs. He is learning how to use a doggie door. He sleeps in a kennel and stays in it when his foster parents leave to run errands. He is very sweet. He loves to play with all the other dogs.
Please do NOT call to ask if this puppy is available for adoption. If this listing is still posted then we are still accepting applications. Please read the narrative in it's entirety. Please note our adoption procedures are explained in GREAT DETAIL BELOW. READ, READ, READ. Thank You. . . . . The best match will be selected and contacted to confirm an appointment at Petsmart in Yorba Linda on Saturday between noon and 3 pm or on a mutually agreeable day, time and place. We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies and we cannot hold puppies; please submit your application when you are ready to adopt. If you are interested in meeting any Poochmatch dog, please visit our website to complete an adoption application. It is in the ADOPTION folder at the top of our home page. Just fill in the blanks and SEND.
The adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, core vaccinations including rabies and 4 sets of distemper/parvo and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc.
Puppies are not house-trained although they may have begun crate-training and/or potty pad training in their foster home, depending on their age. House-training is a process that will need to be completed by their adopter. Puppies, if left unsupervised and not redirected will develop negative behaviors such as using the restroom in the wrong place, chewing, barking, whining, etc. Please be sure to do research on raising a puppy and be sure that you are prepared to do so. This is a great article from 3LostDogs that explains the trials and tribulations of puppyhood: http://3lostdogs.com/things-wish-everyone-knew-before-they-get-dog-2/

Additional adoption info
We do not have a facility. Our dogs are in foster homes with volunteers.
We do not do out-of-state adoptions for puppies. We would only consider out-of-state adoptions for adult dogs that prove hard-to-place locally. We do not hold dogs, please submit your application when you are ready to adopt.
All prospective adopters must COMPLETE AN ADOPTION APPLICATION. Upon receipt AND approval (usually within 72 hours), a mutually agreeable appointment date, time and place will be scheduled. Prospective adopters must be receptive to a home check, sign an adoption contract and provide an adoption fee.
All adoption fees cover the mandatory and non-negotiable spay/neuter, rabies, microchip, microchip registration, full sets of core vaccinations (rabies and 1 set of distemper/parvo for adults, 4 for puppies) and deworming. Adoption fees vary based on age, breed, size and the costs incurred on the dog's behalf by us i.e. medical, behavioral training, etc. and they range from $295 - $495.
All of our dogs are vetted prior to becoming adoptable - although not everything is always revealed in the initial health check. We do request that if one of our dogs becomes ill shortly after being adopted that their adopter contacts us ASAP so that we can assist them.

More about this rescue
I became involved in animal rescue because of the overwhelming number of stray animals I observe in less affluent areas of Southern California. We vet all of the dogs found as strays, provide rehabilitation, socialization and training - 500 a year! We march to the beat of a fast drummer and take great pride in the dedication of those who work together to place these precious dogs in the right home, not just any home.
Poochmatch is a small rescue group with half-a dozen volunteers. Since our founding in 2006, we have done over 3,700 dog adoptions. With over 500 in 2018 alone.
We do not have a secretary - we are completely volunteer-based and so we respond to emails, calls and voicemails as quickly as possible. We'd love to have more assistance. We need help administratively from individuals with computers, digital cameras and marketing skills. We also need volunteers for our Saturday events, individuals 18 years or older, to help walk our dogs, maintain clean crates and provide them with fresh water for them. Please note we do not accept volunteers who treat our events as a hang-out and are generally distracted while tending the dogs - that is a disaster waiting to happen. We also do not accept volunteers who treat the event as a petting zoo and "hog" dogs. While we do appreciate and encourage that our volunteers interact with our dogs it is our one day a week to find them a forever home and we also want potential adopters to be able to interact with them. If you are interested in adopting, please send us an email at poochmatch@hotmail.com to make sure that we will be holding an event on the Saturday you are interested in volunteering. We could really use dedicated volunteers too! Please see http://poochmatch.com/volunteer.html for more information.
