Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Hi there, I`m Stephen King (aka Nugget) and I am 3 years old. I am an adorable orange and white young man. Sadly, I was an owner surrender to a local animal control. I am a curious boy. I like to go exploring rooms in the shelter when I get the chance. I also can`t help but jump up in a windowsill when I hear birds chirping and if there is a bird or squirrel feeder that draws them in to watch...even better. My deep focus and little chatter are definitely a site to see...so cute! I am soft, enjoy pets, don`t seem to know a stranger, and am talkative. Things to climb call my name, so I really like those cat trees, dangling and crinkle toys don`t seem to be my favorite toys, but I do enjoy them sometimes. I am a sweet, social, and can`t wait for my forever family to come! If you think that could be you, please go ahead and fill out that application online so we can meet and see if we`re right for each other!!

TAPS-Tazewell Animal Protective Society was founded in 1958 in Pekin Illinois in a building donated by the City of Pekin on River Road. In 1979, rapidly rising river water forced the evacuation of the animals. Once again, the City of Pekin stepped in and donated a building for the animals. Several moves later, and with the help and generosity of many volunteers and community members, TAPS now has a new home at 100 TAPS Lane. Last year we celebrated 50 year of caring for the homeless animals of Central Illinois.
