Meet Starsky! Starsky is a silly, goofy 1 year old very handsome American Staffy/American Bulldog (best guess) who has a presence about him. His brindle coloring and personality will turn heads. Starsky came into the rescue with no skills and he quickly learned to sit - especially food is involved. He is definitely food motivated and teachable. Starsky weighs 60lbs and may get a little bigger. He has puppy energy so loves to run and play in his foster family's yard but has also decided he likes sofa time too! He'll make a terrific addition to a family. We suggest older kids in the house because Starsky doesn't realize he's not a lap dog and might inadvertently knock down a small child or toddler. His foster family is working on leash training and other manners but he wants to please. Starsky is current on vaccines, neutered, & microchipped. Adoption is a four part process.

Application: You will be required to submit general information along with personal and vet references.

Home visit: Potential adopters will receive a home visit by one of our members.

Meet -n- Greet: All family members (fur babies included) must meet the foster parent and pup they wish to adopt.

Here at Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, each adoption contribution is a flat rate per dog. We do not adjust this rate based on the "popularity" of a dog. We believe every dog is worthy of an owner that sees the value in them. Each adoption contribution is used to cover the expenses incurred for that dog and other dogs in our program.

Dirt Road Doggies Rescue, INC is located in the quaint town of Gillsville, in the foothills of the Georgia Mountains, just south of Gainesville. Our rescues are fostered in loving homes located in Hall, Jackson, and neighboring counties.

We are a small canine rescue group located in Northeast Georgia that works tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate, fully vet, and re-home faithful dogs that have been tossed out of cars onto rural roads. We are a registered, 501c3 tax deductible Non Profit Rescue and we are licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture

All dogs in our program have been previously reported to animal control to ensure they were not lost pups who had a family diligently looking for them. We do not turn a dog away due to breed, health concerns, or age. It is our goal to keep these dogs out of animal shelters, thus saving their lives and providing more time to the dogs already in shelters to find their forever family.
