My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Honey is a 7 old sweet and velcro girl who absolutely loves to snuggle and is ready for a walk at any time!

Honey has unfortunately lived a sad life, experiencing physical abuse and being dumped to fend for herself. Despite experiencing this, Honey is as sweet as can be!

As soon as she came to her foster home, Honey became attached to her foster parents. She loves giving kisses and is extremely affectionate and big time cuddler. She has now become the queen of the bed and loves to serve as a body pillow to her foster mom when it’s time for bed!

She is very social and loves to greet anyone who comes to visit. She is quickly learning how to walk on the leash through positive reinforcement and verbal praise. She loves the sound of the door opening and gives the best “welcome home!” greetings.

She enjoys long walks and does great around others during her walks.

Honey was very timid of her foster sister (a 90 pound female Weimaraner), and did not want to engage with her. Over time, she has grown comfortable and learning to play and has now begun to imitate play! She is still learning to play as it seems she never got to experience this and was fearful when her foster mom would want to play.

She would flinch and lay down, but through practice, is now enjoying tug of war! She loves to play fetch, loves chewable toys such as her favorite red Kong and stuffed toys that squeak!

Patience will be needed to continue to teach her how to play and show her that we are not wanting to take her items as she has experienced a lack of toys and tries to keep them close to her, but she listens once you talk to her.

We are so proud of how hard she is working and learning all that a loving home has to offer!

Honey is 45 lbs. She is a medium size dog with beautiful warm honey eyes and contagious little smile.

Adopters will need patience to understand she is still learning. She needs a little bit of time, but shes WONDERFUL.

Her foster mom says, she is a TERRIBLE STUDY PARTNER as she keeps distracting her with her sweetness and her foster mom keeps petting her while studying.

Honey is currently being fostered in Houston, Texas but can travel to any state, even Canada for the right home. Her adoption fee includes her transport fee.
