Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
We received a call for help regarding a litter of kittens on the bank of Route 80. It took a couple of weeks but the family of four was finally safe in our care. Already several months old, socializing them was not going to be easy but we had to try. After all, there was no way the cats were going back outside to the busy highway from where they were rescued. Our doors are overflowing with shy cats but every one of them deserves a chance at a peaceful life. Born in June, 2023, brother and sister, Marvin and Lake were tough nuts to crack and will still need your patience. Lake is a beautiful light grey tabby girl with sad eyes. Her eyes tend to water when she feels stressed which is quite often and will most likely continue in any new environment. She is sweet and would love a safe place to call home.
Lake is vaccinated, altered, FeLV/FIV tested negative and microchipped. If you are interested in adopting this pet, you can start the process and access our pre-adoption application which is located on our website at www.startpets.net, click on Pets for Adoption then application; complete the form, and submit/send. We can also be reached at 973-785-1245 or email us at info@startpets.net. All Pets are adopted within a 50 mile radius of Little Falls, NJ. Please remember out of state adoptions require additional time for approval; you must be 21 years or older to adopt; an application does not guarantee an adoption; not all animals on our website come to all adoption days.

More about this rescue
Save The Animals Rescue Team, (S.T.A.R.T.) is a non-profit humane organization, founded by Annette Lamberti, that rescues stray, abandoned, injured, and abused kittens, puppies, cats, and dogs. The animals rescued are examined by a veterinarian, spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and placed in one of our volunteer foster homes. Since S.T.A.R.T. does not have a shelter facility, these animals remain in our foster care until they are adopted. So many of these unfortunate animals are victims of pet overpopulation, therefore, this life-saving work is critical!!
It is our mission to prevent cruelty, promote spay/neuter, and to encourage awareness through education, while also teaching respect for all animals and the environment they live in. S.T.A.R.T. is a 501 (c)(3) private non-profit organization relying on and supported by tax-deductible donations, grants and group fund raising.
