Lassy is a wonderful dog who is sweet, full of love and playful !
She was abandoned with her siblings and suspected to have been abused. Therefore, she is a bit shy and timid due to her past.
Pssss….(Being a bit shy in the beginning is common, especially for rescue dogs adjusting to new environments.)
Patience and kindness are essential qualities when caring for animals, especially those who may be shy or in need of extra support. Building trust and rapport takes time, but the rewards of a strong bond are immeasurable and Lassy will likely blossom into a wonderful companion!
Lassy is around 3 years, spayed and fully vaccinated. All she’s missing is YOU!
Please increase her chances of being adopted by sharing her story!

We take great care in being sure that each adoption is a good fit for both the animal and the adopter. Once the adoption is finalized, after a 1 week trial period, we follow up with the adopter (sometimes more time is needed) making sure that the pet is well adjusted to its surroundings and its new owner.
We also ask that they take the adopted pet to their Vet to have the pet checked out even though we have done so prior to the adoption.

We have adoption events almost every weekend. Our Adoption events take place at Petco & Petsmart, our adoption partners. We also participate in other adoption events in the city of San Diego, CA, i.e., the Doggy Street Festival (at Liberty Station) as well as all the events sponsored by the Animals Support Foundation, that take place in Grossmont, San Diego.

More about this rescue
The greater Tijuana area of 3 million people and thousands of abandoned street animals needs more individuals doing rescues and organizing neighborhood spay events. FHSTJ Does not run a shelter. Instead, it supports grass roots organizations and individual rescuers. This allows us to serve many more animals at any given time, due to this unique system of support. This is accomplished by giving financial support to rescuers and groups which could not function without the generosity of FHSTJ donors.
In summary, we support street rescues, mass spay and neuter clinics, pet owners with extremely limited resources needing veterinary care for their animals as well as public education programs, adoption programs for rescuers, and a pet food distribution program for animals in need.
