My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Name: Nox
Age/Sex: ~Nov 2023 F (Will be spayed by rescue)
Breed: GSD
Medical concerns:
- Allergies. Currently on hydrolyzed food trial and doing well!
- UAP (a form of elbow dysplasia). Surgery completed at Caledon Mountain Veterinary Hospital 7/9/24
- Mild Hip Dysplasia. No surgery recommended at this time.
Good with: Cats! Dogs! Kids! LOVES ABSOLUTELY EVERYONE!

NO DOG PARKS!

Nox is the happiest, most outgoing, social GSD I've ever had! She loves EVERYONE, and I mean EVERYONE! She will be your best friend and soak up every snuggle you have to offer upon laying eyes on you. A stranger is just a new best friend she hasn't met yet!

Nox was found as a stray when she was just 3-4 months old. Since then she's had a few medical challenges pop up, but don't let that scare you away! We have been on top of all of them, and she is doing FANTASTIC!

UAP: UAP is a form of elbow dysplasia. Learn more here: https://www.fitzpatrickreferrals.co.uk/orthopaedics/ununited-anconeal-process-uap/ She had surgery performed on both elbows with Dr. John at Caledon Mountain Veterinary Hospital 7/9/24, and is doing FANTASTIC! She is almost through rehab, and a good maintenance fitness plan will do her well through the rest of her life, but this is easy to do at home! Checking in every 6 months or so with your veterinary physiotherapist would be ideal. We use and recommend SOAR in Burlington! The pieces were not able to be fused, so were removed. It is recommended she not engage in high impact, repetitive sports such as agility, and frisbee.

Hip Dysplasia: Nox is mildly dysplastic, and not symptomatic. She demonstrates excellent range of motion. Dr. John recommends no surgical intervention at this time. Keep her lean, and fit, and let her enjoy life!

Allergies: I know these can be daunting, but we have her in a great place. I mean look at that coat 😍 She is currently on Royal Canin Hypo-Puppy and doing FANTASTIC! We are starting to introduce single proteins back into her diet. I have had MANY allergy dogs come through Inugoya, and all of them got to a great place. I am always here to guide you! Sticking to her diet is key ;)

Nox is a livewire! She may have a golden retrievers sociability, but she is definitely a shepherd! She is VERY oral and easily excited. She doesn't stop wiggling, so we are working hard on focus and impulse control. She WILL GRAB AND BITE EVERYTHING! This is NOT aggression, this is an excitable young toddler exploring her world. She has energy in spades, and is a LOT, so please don't apply if you are easily overwhelmed. If she is bored she WILL find things to do, whether you like those things or not!

Nox wants to work! She loves to use her nose, is a water addict, and barrels through life! She has a soft personality, but excellent recovery and a very confident dog overall. She just wants to do and experience ALL THE THINGS!

As crazy as Nox can be, if her needs are met, she is down to chill and snuggle at days end. She just wants to be with you, and will be your permanent black shadow. She's reasonably quiet when not excited, but will alert bark. She gets along with most dogs, but not all dogs appreciate her energy. She will be fine with cats with proper training, but if you aren't willing to put in the work longterm, don't apply. She loves kids, BUT is VERY oral as I said , so if you aren't going to properly manage your kids and supervise Nox when together, then again, please don't apply.

Nox is 1 in a million. She is a true gem, and deserves someone who will give her the world. Is that you? If so, please apply today! >> https://form.jotform.com/233466598767073
