My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🐾Meet Atlas! 🐾

Introducing Atlas, just a puppy, so loving, affectionate and loyal, eager to please and food-motivated, a nature lover and a good leash walker. He’s great with kids and does well with cats, Atlas will be a phenomenal lifelong companion. We know Atlas to be 100% adorable good boy, and suspect him to be a Husky mix of some sort. Atlas is a rescue, which means his exact age and breed are unknown to us and cannot be guaranteed. Just a puppy, Atlas is estimated to be around six months old!

Meet Atlas here: https://youtu.be/I24qd6zWzoM?si=PXVIELmH2WjKPLF9

Atlas's life is full of joy and puppy antics—playing, cuddling, and taking plenty of naps, with his motto being: Eat, sleep, play, repeat! He embodies sweetness and curiosity, always eager to explore and snuggle. Atlas is super social, affectionate and loves people, but does prefer a slower introduction to new human friends. Once you’ve won him over, Atlas is a bundle of love and fun.

As Atlas is still very young, he will need a dedicated family to guide him through the essential stages of puppy development. This includes continuing his potty and crate training and providing daily exercise to keep him healthy and happy. A commitment to crate training is essential for his integration into his forever home. At the rescue, Atlas is potty trained, though he may need some gentle redirection to appropriate potty spots once he’s moved into his forever home! Atlas is accustomed to leash walks for potty breaks, and does well on the leash. Atlas is food motivated, and eager to please, so furthering his training will be enjoyable for both of you! Atlas is a fast learner, and so well-behaved.

You're signing up for a future filled with affection and adventure by choosing Atlas. He's destined to be an excellent companion for hikes, neighborhood strolls, or cozy days at home. Atlas has the stamina and excitement for new places to do well on long hikes, and a love for snuggles and affection that will allow him to thoroughly enjoy lazy Saturday mornings on the couch. Get ready for endless kisses and a loyal friend who will always be by your side! Atlas has met kids ages 3-17, he does incredibly well with them and isn’t fazed by the rambunctious noises and abrupt movements of toddlers. He’s gentle and caring with them, he has such a big heart!

Atlas isn’t too picky about his forever home. Our behavior team has cat-tested him, and he was tolerant of the cat, but considering his playful spirit, we believe he would do best in a home with dog-savvy cats, or furthered training to prevent any attempts at play with the cats. Atlas is just a big puppy and wants to spread his love and joy to everyone! Atlas adores other dogs, he’s always so happy to run and play with them, and gets along with dogs of all shapes and sizes. Here at the rescue, Atlas is used as an assessment dog, which means that he meets our newest rescue dogs, teaches them that the rescue is a safe and happy place to be, and teaches our behavior team about that dog. Atlas has had a paw in saving dozens of dogs so far, and we’re so proud of him! We believe that Atlas would do well in a household with an established, stable adult dog that will give correction and teach him the ways of the world and your home. Atlas could also thrive as an only-dog, getting all of his love from humans sounds great to this people-loving pup!

We are willing to test this dog with anything you need us to in order to ensure he’s the perfect match for you! We can make anything happen! Just let us know.

Our PNW dogs are brought to you in style by a beautiful USDA licensed semi-truck, equipped with air conditioning for comfort, two drivers, and 2 onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. One of our Adoption Coordinators can help to find the closest transport pick up location to you!

The adoption fee is $800.00 and includes all vetting as recommended by our doctor: DAPP (2 to 4 depending on age and time in the program), Bordetella, Rabies vaccine (if old enough), multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, 2 months of heartworm preventative, extended medical such as dentals, eye surgeries, and orthopedic surgeries prior to adoption when suggested by our partner vets, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar for dogs over 4 months old, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and many priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

*WE ARE TOLD THAT WE GO ABOVE AND BEYOND MEDICALLY. This is the feedback we tend to get, although we cannot guarantee perfect health.
*To fully vet a dog in the PNW at many vets it would be upwards of $1,800 just to fix, vaccinate, chip, etc. The adoption fees charged by our rescue do not cover our expenses medically for each animal, but we offset costs with donations. Your adoption fee is considered a donation towards actual costs.

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
