My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arrow is a handsome, smart, toy-loving, water-splashing, friend to all! He is cute, that’s obvious, but one of my favorite things on top of his amazing personality is those ears of his, they are floppy and perfectly expressive.

The true gold star is all of the amazing skills that come pre-loaded thanks to his foster family. Estimated to be about 8 months old, Arrow has spent his early puppy days living in a loving foster home which gave him such an amazing head start. Regular walks mean has great basic leash skills, frequent four-hour drives to see their kids in college means a great car rider. Living with two other dogs means he is dog-friendly, house trained, and has mastered the doggie door. The list goes on!

If you want to know more, take a few minutes to watch his cuteness in action, then come back and read more, but by then you will likely be in love! https://youtu.be/eQOB6DkNV0A

Arrow comes with some basic commands and is at the perfect age for continued training or to just learn a couple fun party tricks. Given how friendly he is I can imagine him bopping around during get-togethers at your house making everyone smile and quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite. Of course, in rescue, age and breed are simply observations, never guarantees, but Arrows foster family did have his DNA done and it revealed he is primarily American Staffordshire Terrier and Rottweiler but I was going purely off looks my money would be on German Shepherd. Either way, he is a mix of loving, attentive, loyal and playful dogs, it is no wonder he is so well-rounded.

Arrow was introduced to a variety of dogs and was friendly and playful with them all. He would absolutely love to have a canine playmate in his forever home. His love of other dogs doesn’t take away from his connection with people. He adores people and is a friend from the start, melting at your feet at the first sign of a belly rub possibility.

Arrow has apartment/condo potential but would love a yard for bouncing around and playing with his toys. We anticipate he will be in the 50-60lb range once fully grown. An ideal home can look like a lot of things with Arrow, he is ready to fit right in! When we introduced Arrow to our house cat he was incredibly respectful and although curious, never was pushy or overly excited. Arrow is considered ca-tolerant and from what we saw, could live peacefully with a feline friend.

If you are looking for a walking partner, Arrow has got that down to! He has great basic leash skills but will benefit from continued leash work, socialization, and adventures to ensure he can maintain and build on to that great base. His attentive nature to people and intelligence will likely translate into a fast learning and obedient dog.

If you have any questions about Arrow or would like us to test him for a specific setting or detail, please be in touch! We can make most anything happen to ensure he is the correct fit for you and your life!

Why adopt from Three Little Pitties?

The stray and animal overpopulation in the Greater Houston area is the highest in the nation. Statistics show that there are over 1 million homeless animals in this region alone. Three Little Pitties Rescue is a nonprofit dog and cat rescue that partners with the community to make a difference. Our mission is to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and saving all breeds of dogs and cats from the streets or animal shelters that oftentimes have no other option but to euthanize animals for space. This dog you’ve found online is lucky to be in our program, and even luckier to have you notice it!

Three Little Pitties wants to set you and your new pet up for success! We know our dogs and we work hard to prepare them socially for adoption. We are a network of dedicated people who are heavily invested in seeing our animals thrive. From the moment they are accepted into our program, our Intake, Behavior & Medical teams prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally assessing, and providing customized plans depending on the dog’s needs. We seek to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!

It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these special perks:

• 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion (must register within 24 hours of first vet appt.)
• A free private online dog training session with GoodPup plus low pricing for future sessions (approx $25 weekly for an 8 week course of one session per week)
• One free bonus toy in every BarkBox when signing up for their Super Chewer subscription plan
• 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a PNW based, organic fresh dog food loaf meal subscription plan
• Coupons for a fun visit to Petco
• Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup!

We celebrated our 5 year anniversary this year! Through the combined efforts of all of our hardworking staff and volunteers, we have placed over 12,000 very lucky dogs and cats into amazing homes! By adopting from us, you save TWO lives! The pet you adopt, and you create an opportunity for another animal to be saved in that spot. Together, we can be heroes.
