Starshine ACCT-A-159315 is an adult dog who came in as a stray on 3/8. Starshine was found roaming the streets of Philly. She is a very sweet but nervous dog who likes pets! Unfortunately, she is emaciated and has bite wounds. She also struggles to put any weight on her left hind limb. She would benefit greatly from a calm environment where she can recover.
Eligible for rescue and adoption. Meet Starshine at ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.

Behavioral:
3/17:24 volunteer notes Starshine's kennel is near the rear doors and she watched quietly as I excited several times with other dogs. She was so sweet I just had to get her out. When it was her turn, she gently approached and was easy to leash. She is so sweet and quiet and loves humans even tho she has had a rough go of it. She was super affectionate giving lots of kisses and leaning in for all over pets. She enjoyed playing with the toys in the play yard and i didnt notice limping, but she was sneezing a ton and very snotty with her cold. She is underweight and very treat motivated. Starshine has nothing but love to give and would be most faithful companion
3/10/24 per volunteer: Poor girl has had a rough life so far. She is skinny with wounds all over. But that doesn't damper her spirit. She was initially shy coming out and through the kennels, but really opened up outside. She is a tad jumpy and open palm for treats is understandable as skinny as she is. She enjoyed getting pets and is a sweet girl.
Medical:
On 3/8 staff noted "Stray dog with bite wounds, not bearing weight on left hindlimb. puncture wounds on both pinnal flaps, no evidence of otitis. Mild calculus. Underbite. Many puncture wounds w/ associated cellulitis on face, neck, chest, and forelimbs. Puncture wounds also present on the lateral and medial aspects of the left stifle and on the medial aspect of the right stifle. Non-weight bearing lame on left hindlimb. Obvious swelling noted on palpation of the stifle and proximal tibia. Thin body condition. Incredibly sweet and tolerant girl!! Dog bite wounds (face, ears, neck, forelimbs and hindlimb). Left hindlimb lameness - r/o secondary to soft tissue trauma/cellulitis from dog fight vs other. Tapeworms
On 3/8 staff noted "refused to put weight on back left paw, scabs everywhere, emaciated.
