Meet the absolute life of the party! His official name is Kie, but he is 100% a Big Mike and this is what he goes by in his foster home. Big Mike is an absolute blast. He says life is meant for living so lets go! A fun loving, playful, and goofy boy, Big Mike has lots of energy. He loves swimming, running, keeping the yard free of any and all critters, and his doggy pals. His foster mom is a runner and he is a natural as a running buddy and can easily keep up for 6-7 miles at a time. At the end of a good day of doggy shenanigans, he likes to snuggle up with his people. He is a genuine lover.
Big Mike lives with kids (4 & 7) and is never mean, but would likely be too much for the vast majority of homes with small children. He is great with other dogs of all sizes. He lives with a cat who he simply cannot understand why the cat does not want to play all the time, but has improved some with time. He is perfectly crate trained and rarely makes a noise when kenneled. He does lack some confidence in certain situations and will at times get spooked by a strange hat or weird looking trash can, but is learning more about the world each day.
Big Mike is an assumed mix of Boxer and German Shepherd. We have not confirmed that with any DNA test, but he looks and acts a lot like you would expect of this mix. He likes to gently remind us of his presence with a swipe of his paw (hello, Boxer!) and sometimes has a lot to say (shepherd).
Big Mike is about 65 pounds and is a lean, athletic dog with long legs. He has an estimated birthday of September of 2022, so he is still very much a young dog with all the fun that comes with this stage in life.
Nobody has more personality than Big Mike. He keeps us laughing every day and someone will be sure to have an amazing dog in him. Apply to meet him today!
