My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Did you know this sweet family has been sponsored?

Mama Ellie and her kids are just the sweetest!

Ellie is a CH kitty. She is fine with other mellow cats. But no dogs in household and small children, no stairs. She will need access to her litterbox. She is a sweet girl and loves attention. She loves to be petted and will roll over and loves her belly rubbed. She loves to play with her catnip kicker toy.

Angel & Stitch are female and male. They are about 6 months now. They are also very sweet, love playing and running around. They enjoy snuggling with Mama when they are ready for nap time.

CH and wobbly cat syndrome, is a neurological disorder that causes sudden jerky movements, uncoordinated motion and loss of balance. In a CH cat, the brain does not develop properly.

There is no treatment for cats diagnosed with this condition because it is due to the brain failing to develop properly Most kittens with cerebellar hypoplasia will live a normal lifespan and can overcome any limitations the virus may have caused to brain development.

If you are interested in adopting, applications can be found on our website www.ahimsahaven.org. Meet and greets are with an approved application by appointment only.

As always, cats that are ready to be adopted are spayed/neutered, have age appropriate shots, are micro-chipped, dewormed/deflead, and FEL/FIV tested.

Additional adoption info

Our animal listings are updated daily to reflect any adoptions, sometimes even minutes after the adoption. Should you see an animal you are interested in please visit our website (ahimsahaven.org) to fill out an Adoption Application.

As we are an all volunteer organization, we are not able to answer phone/email inquiries about specific cats until your application has been submitted and approved.

Current fees can be found on our website at ahimsahaven.org

Some animals are part of our Take A Chance On Me program and have a small adoption fee. You can see which ones on our website's "Take A Chance On Me" page.

Our adoption fees include spay or neuter, vaccinations. Ahimsa Haven Animal Rescue is a nonprofit organization, so your donations are tax deductible. Our adoption policies are as follows: We require a signed adoption contract, and payment of adoption fee prior to placement. Fee is refundable if the animal is returned within 30 days. We require that the animal be returned to our care, in the event the placement does not work out even if that is many years in the future.

More about this rescue

Ahimsa Haven was incorporated in 1999 as a nonprofit animal rescue group. Our mission is to find good homes for abandoned, homeless and unwanted domestic animals.

Ahimsa is a term from an eastern religion that means "To do no harm, in thought or deed, to any living creature". Every penny we raise goes to the animals - no one gets a salary!
