My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

SENIOR IN NEED: Skye was adopted 10 years ago when she was 1-2 years fast forward 10 years and her owner is having health issues and can’t keep her. Here’s what her owner says: In August 2014 we adopted Skye. She is an extremely friendly dog and loves all ages of humans. She would love a more active life than I can give her now. She loves to curl up next to you and soak up belly rubs and asks for more. She eats dry food only and has kept her figure all these years. She gets 1/2 cup of dry food twice a day and treats after all walks and sometimes during the day. She would keep eating anything in sight if I left her to it but I like to keep her weight in the healthy range. Her weight is 46 lbs. Skye was vetted by Hospice for their Pet visitor program and passed with flying colors!!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The way the adoption works is you complete an application, which we review. If you have had previous pets (like a cat or other dogs) we do a vet check to ensure they are up to date on shots etc. Then the last step is a home visit to basically ensure there are no obvious dangers for the dog in the home. The fee is $100.

More about this rescue

Releashed Rescue is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing working dogs from high-kill shelters, rehabilitating those that need training and rehoming them into permanent loving homes.

Releashed Rescue will provide food, shelter, basic necessities, medical treatment including shots and spay or neuter, and work to train any animal going through our program. Our goal is to find the right family to love and care for the animals for their lifetime.

Releashed Rescue has a vision of a world where animals are not killed because they are inconvenient. Instead, we hope to educate the public about pet over-population, spay , neuter, humane treatment of animals and how animals can enrich the lives of people including the elderly, children and those with disabilities.
