Quito’s life has been a difficult one. We saved him from the streets of Mexico and fostered him with a loving family for many months. He was then adopted and after 3 weeks was returned due to his “shedding”. He went back into foster and was adopted by a wonderful man who loved him, and they were both the centres of each others universe. It was just him and his owner, bachelors living together beautifully for 6 months One evening his owner put on his coat to take him for a walk, he fell and never got up, he passed in the home and we can’t imagine what Quito went through. Thank goodness a neighbour took him in and a wonderful foster is currently fostering him where he is again flourishing.
Quito is a high energy dog, who loves to run and play. He is a good boy who is a lover of people, including children but we do recommend kids 8+ because of his GO GO GO energy!
He is a sweet boy who loves life and is just waiting for someone to love him for who he is. He enjoys being with people and when he sees familiar faces, he becomes very excited, as with most dogs, he does need time to warm up to strangers but once he does, be prepared for a lot of kisses!
The ideal home for Quito would be a home where the owners are active and willing to walk, run, hike and go on some cool adventures with him. A home with a fully fenced in back yard where he could expend his energy is best for him. He is house trained and crate trained and sleeps through the night. He is currently living with two dogs who he plays with daily. There are no cats in the foster home so, but perhaps with proper introduction, both cat and Quito could live together but it would be upon discretion of the adopter.
Quito cannot take another trauma so we will be looking for the perfect home for him. It must be one that will accept him for who he is and remember he will need time to decompress in a new environment once again.
He is a small, sweet little boy who deserves the best life and a forever home!
If you feel you would be the right fit for Quito, please fill out an adoption application at www.allpawsmatter.ca
All APM dogs are UTD on vaccinations, microchipped, spayed or neutered, dewormed, Heart worm (4dx snap) tested and arrive with a health certificate. They come to adopter with a harness, a collar and two leashes for safety.
NOTE: The above description is relevant to this dog in its current and previous setting. Home changes and adopter personalities can bring out different behaviours not previously seen. We also do not claim or suggest that our dogs are hypo-allergenic or that they shed/do not shed.
BREED DISCLAIMER: We are never sure of the breed of our dogs since they arrive off the streets or shelters. It is a guess only!
