My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rockwell probably hasn't had a lot of love in his life. Yet this gentle boy reaches into caresses hungrily, so he obviously grew up depending on human care. He was homeless and hanging around a neighbourhood, trying to survive, but he was not welcome. Someone scooped him up and drove him five miles deeper into the country to dump him. However, Rockwell made his way back to the only area he knew as home. This time someone else decided that the best way to remove Rockwell was to call a shelter. So they brought him to Katie's Place. He huddled at the back of his new-cat cage, the picture of dejection, responding hesitantly to attention at first. He had suffered a lot that eroded his trust. All he needed was time and care to recover his confidence and optimism. Soon, if we gave him pets he seemed to smile and he soaked it up enthusiastically. With a bit more time, Rockwell was coming up to us to say hi and ask for some pets rather than waiting to see if we'd come to him. This sweet-natured fellow has found trust again and now he enjoys the affection he missed for so long. He'll nudge our hands to keep petting him if we stop! He has turned out to be an endearing little soul who never makes any trouble and, in fact, has shown kindness to his feline roommates (see the photo where he's giving young Douglas a few friendly licks). He will be a joy for someone in a loving home of his own.

Rockwell was born around the middle of 2007.
